No. 10 Oregon Tech Powers Past Argos for Series Sweep

MEDFORD, Ore. -  No. 10 Oregon Tech (18-6, 6-0 CCC) stayed hot on Sunday hitting a total of 6-home runs including five in the opener as the Owls swept a doubleheader and the four game series from the University of Providence (0-4, 0-4 CCC) Sunday, 17-1 and 10-0 at US Cellular Fields. The four game series was originally scheduled for Great Falls, Montana but was moved to Medford because of poor field conditions.

"We had a good weekend in every aspect of the game and continue to improve as a team," said Head Coach Greg Stewart. "I am really proud of this group of ladies. They work hard all week long in practice to get better and it shows in their game performance."

Game 1 Oregon Tech 17 Providence 1 (5-innings)

Kiahna Brown smacked two-home runs, Baylee Wyscaver and McKenna Armantrout muscled up three-run homers and Ali Graham added a solo shot while also picking up the win in the circle as the Owls dominated the Argos 17-1 in the opener.

Graham pitched a mercy rule (5-innings) complete game giving up just one-run and six-hits as she improved to 7-3 on the year.

Armantrout led the OIT offense with three-hits with Brown, Graham, Wyscaver, and Cierra Barkis contributing two-hits each in the win.

Game 2 Oregon Tech 10 Providence 0 (5-innings)

Tech blew the game wide open in the second inning with 7-runs on RBI hits by Sotelo, Armantrout and Logan Nunes as OIT took a 9-0 lead.

Up next the No. 10 ranked Lady Owls will host No. 3 ranked Southern Oregon University (17-4, 5-1 CCC) on Friday and Saturday in a crucial CCC and NAIA four-game series. Friday's doubleheader is scheduled for a 2:00 pm start.  Saturday, Oregon Tech Athletics, along with the OIT Foundation, invite fans to a special ceremony, the official unveiling of the new John and Lois Stilwell Stadium.
