SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – After fighting a double-overtime battle to a draw on Tuesday afternoon at Les Schwab Sports Park, No. 5 seeded Eastern Oregon took the quarterfinal victory from No. 4 seeded Oregon Tech after outscoring the Owls in penalty shootout 4-3.
The win sends the Mountaineers to the Cascade Collegiate Tournament Semifinals.
Eastern held a clear advantage through much of the game, holding the Hustlin' Owls to only three shots as Tech struggled to get past their defense. The Mountaineers tallied 23 shots of their own, including seven on target, but failed to score a goal.
Javier Moran and Elvis Pavon led Eastern Oregon with five shots each and Moran shot 2-of-5 on target. Felipe Madero followed with four shots.

John Sarna were the only two to shoot, with Roske adding two shots and Sarna adding one before drawing a red card.
Tech goalkeeper
Mitchell Jillson made six saves in the game to hold off the Mountaineers.
The Hustlin' Owls end their season with a 10-5-4 record.
