KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech men's soccer program will enter the Cascade Collegiate Tournament Tuesday as the No. 4 seed and will play for a shot at the postseason championship and a trip to the national tournament later this year.
 
The Hustlin' Owls (10-5-3, 7-5-1 CCC) secured their position with a close 2-1 victory over Evergreen State in one of the program's strongest seasons. The team scored a record high 40 goals over the season and earned a .639 percentage – their greatest to date.
 
Tech's first opponent will be No. 5 seeded Eastern Oregon (9-8-1, 7-6-0 CCC), who the Owls took down 4-0 in their last matchup this season. However, the Mountaineers are coming off of a 5-win streak and will bring their best to the tournament.
 
"The guys are excited for the tournament and are prepared to compete," said Coach Porter. "They have accomplished so much this season, but of course the goal is to win a first-round game and then keep advancing. Eastern Oregon is playing well right now and are a dangerous team with some talented attackers. We will have to have all of our players prepared and focused come Tuesday.  We hope to continue to represent Oregon Tech with pride and class in this postseason."
 
Rounding off the top five seeds for the men's tournament are Corban University, who took the regular season title undefeated with a 12-0-1 record and a 14-0-2 overall record, Rocky Mountain College (12-4-0, 11-2-0 CCC), and Southern Oregon University (12-5-1, 10-2-1 CCC).
 
Oregon Tech's goalkeeper Mitchell Jillson currently holds seven shutouts on the year. The Owls are led offensively by freshman John Sarna, who scored seven goals and made three assists to earn 17 points. Senior Daniel Blessinger follows with 13 points off four goals and five assists and sophomore Anthony Santillan earned 12 with six goals.
