Owls Glide Past Eagles

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Oregon Tech (6-4 CCC, 12-8) outscored Northwest (4-8 CCC, 7-15) 18-9 in the fourth quarter on the way to a 64-54 win Friday Night at Kristi Brodin Pavilion.

 

A close first quarter kicked off the game, with the score tying five times before the Lady Owls pulled ahead to end the stanza 19-15.

 

While neither team made much headway in the second quarter, Northwest University pushed back in the third, riding a 9-1 run to the lead before Tech took it back by a single point to end the period, and – with their 4th stanza advantage – held it to the end of the game.

 

Senior Bailey Nelson led the Owls with 16 points, followed by sophomore Abby Kreiser, senior Megan Morris, and freshman Courtney Clemmer, who tallied 10 points each. Sophomore Amanda Constant scored seven points and also grabbed six rebounds.

 

For the Eagles, Sam Van Loo added 18 points - taking game high honors - and grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double. Miranda Langenhorst notched eight points, and Alyx Fast and Andie Kristinat recorded six apiece.

 

OIT led in rebounding, taking a 45-33 advantage and also dominated in the paint 36-20.

 

NU had the advantage in assisting, with a 16-10 edge on Tech.

 

Both teams struggled from long range, with a 12.5% three-point average for the Owls and 15.8% average for the Eagles.

 

The Lady Owls will remain in Washington to play the Evergreen State College in Olympia at 5:30 pm on Saturday before returning to Klamath Falls next week to play Warner Pacific on Friday, Multnomah on Saturday, and Southern Oregon University on Tuesday. All three games will take place at 5:30 at Danny Miles Court, and Saturday's game will mark Tech's 10th Annual Pinkout event.
