CALDWELL, Idaho – Ashley Pagan had a match-high 19 kills as the No.7 Lady Yotes of College of Idaho rebounded from a one set deficit to down Oregon Tech 3-1 (19-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-17) inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center. The Yotes improve to 6-3, 1-0 CCC with the Owls slipping to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the CCC.
"We got out of the gates fast and stuck to the game plan perfectly," said Head Coach
Andrew Clifton. "That really helped us pull out game one. They made some changes in the second game and we had a difficult time changing with them. I feel like we really grew as a team even in the loss and we will regroup and go for it again tomorrow night vs EOU."
In the first set Tech jumped out to leads of; 3-1, 5-1, 9-4, and 12-8, before taking a 16-10 lead. C of I cut the lead to 20-19 but Tech then finished strong winning the last five points to win the set 25-19.
C of I took big leads in the final three sets on the way to the 3-1 match win.
OIT hit .250 in the first set but finished the four set match with a poor percentage of .109 while the Yotes hit an amazing .306 for the match.
Chase Bohman led the Owls with 13 kills with
Camryn Johnson adding 8 in the loss.
On the defensive side,
Lindsey Sampson had 15 digs with
Bailey Nelson and Bohman adding 12 each.
