KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- Oregon Tech improved to 12-17 in the NAIA-West and 23-27 overall with a 5-3 win over the University of British Columbia (18-11 NAIAW, 24-21) Saturday afternoon at Kiger Stadium.
Game two of the scheduled twin bill was canceled due to rain and will not be made up. The two teams will aim for a doubleheader Sunday beginning at 11:00 am on Senior Day to wrap-up the regular season.
After UBC took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Oregon Tech answered with two-runs in the bottom of the inning on an
Alex Poltz two-run double.
OIT made it a 3-1 lead on a sacrifice fly RBI by
Josh Kallstrom in the third.
UBC added an unearned run in 5
th to cut the Tech lead to 3-2.
The Hooter answered right back with a run in the bottom of the frame on a
Justin Jordan RBI single, increasing the OIT lead to 4-2.
Mitch Robinson hit a solo home run for UBC, trimming the Owl lead back to 4-3.
Austin Zavala gave the Owls an insurance run with an RBI double in the 8
th.
Tech's
Trask Telesmanich pitched the final two-innings to pick up his conference leading 9
th save of the season.
Chase Wago improved to 8-3, getting the win on the bump for OIT going 5.2 innings with six strikeouts.

Matthew Del Fante and Poltz had two-hits each to lead the Owls.
Jake Lanferman, Anthony Olson, and Austen Butler had two-each for the T-Birds.
