Seniors Shine as Owls Sweep Argos on Senior Day

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.- No.22 Oregon Tech outscored the University of Providence (Great Falls, Montana) 26-0 on Saturday, on the way to a pair of shutout wins, 17-0 and 9-0 on Senior Day as Tech swept the series at the OIT Softball Complex. The Owls improve to 31-11 on the year and 18-6 in CCC play with today's wins as UP slips to 7-27 overall and 5-18 in conference play. (OIT Seniors Pictured L-R

OIT starting Pitchers
Kelly Scott and
Loryn Williams only allowed 4-hits in the two shutout victories as Owl hitters combined for 24-hits including 6-doubles, 4-homers, and 3-triples.
Even with the weekend sweep the Lady Owls were unable to gain any ground on Corban (19-5 CCC) and Southern Oregon (19-5 CCC) as both those teams also swept. OIT remains one game back of the Warriors and Raiders for first place in the CCC standing heading into the final weekend of CCC play. Oregon Tech will travel to Northwest (5-19 CCC) while SOU will travel to La Grande to take on Eastern Oregon (14-9 CCC) and Corban takes the long haul to Helena, Montana to take on Carroll College (13-10 CCC).

Williams pitched a 1-hit shutout and
Ali Graham hit two home runs in the opener to lead the Hooter to a 17-0 Cascade Conference win over UP. Senior
Tara Moates hit her fourth home run of the year and had 4-RBI in the lopsided win.
Tech scored three runs in the first, added one run in the second then blew the game wide open with a six run third and a seven run fourth inning.
Graham was 4-4 at the plate to lead the OIT barrage with Moates adding three hits.
Williams improved to 9-1 in the circle for Tech as she had 4-strikeouts.
Hanna Tarum had the Argos only hit breaking up the no-hitter in the top of the fourth with two-outs.

Logan Nunes hit a pinch hit three-run home run in the bottom of the 6th inning and Senior
Kelly Scott picked up her 11
th win of the season as Oregon Tech finished off a 4-game series sweep of the University of Providence with a 9-0 game 2 shutout win.
Scott improved to 11-6 with the shutout win as she had 6-strikouts.
Graham had two more hits to lead the OIT offense in game 2 with
Baylee Wyscaver and
McKenna Armantrout adding two-hits apiece in the win.
