Red Hot Hustlin’ Owls Host Perennial Power No. 7 LC-State this Weekend
Men's Baseball
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech men's baseball team is in the midst of a seven game win streak, the longest the club has had since 2010. That streak has vaulted the Owls back into the NAIA-West playoff picture only two games back of third place Corban and a spot in the postseason tournament with two weeks left in the regular season.

The Owls will look to stay hot as they host the defending NAIA National Champions and currently ranked No.7 Warriors of Lewis-Clark State for a five game series beginning Saturday night at 6:00 pm at historic Kiger Stadium.

Since the win streak started, OIT has out-scored its opponents 53-26, while out-hitting them 98-56. Over that span, Tech has been led by Junior Josh Kallstrom who has gone 14-28 at the plate, with 13-runs batted in, 4-homers, 4-doubles, 1-triple, and he has scored 14-runs. Kallstrom has also picked-up CCC Player of the Week honors twice and was named NAIA Player of the Week once.

As hot as Kallstrom and the Hooter bats have been, the Owls would not be where they are without good, consistent starting pitching. Senior Doug Molzahn continues to be the Owls' ace, but Freshman Chase Wago (Pictured) has pitched well with a team low 3.31 ERA and a 7-2 record. Junior John Schulz has improved his record to 5-3, including back-to-back wins. One of the brightest spots of the Owls' pitching staff has been Sophomore Trask Telesmanich who has a conference leading 8-saves.

After the single game series opener on Saturday night, the teams will play a doubleheader Sunday starting at noon and will wrap-up the series with a doubleheader starting at 11:00 am Monday, all at Kiger Stadium. Live stats are available at www.oregontechowls.com
