KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) recently announced that Oregon Tech volleyball senior outside hitter Chase Bohman (Creswell, Ore.) garnered Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District First-Team honors.
 
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution

"I am so proud of Chase for receiving this award," said Head Coach Andrew Clifton. "It is very difficult to get this award and I could not be more happy for her."

Bohman is one of just four award-winners from the entire Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC), claiming one of 10 spots in District Four for volleyball. District Four includes all NAIA schools from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, and Canada.
 
Bohman is a psychology major who finished the year ranked 4th in the NAIA in kills per game at 4.57 while leading the Cascade Collegiate Conference with 425 kills.  Bohman also hit at a .222 clip and added 23 aces for the season.  On the defensive end, Bohman was second on Owls with a 304 digs (3.27 digs/game) and 20 block assists.
 
Bohman has also garnered CCC First Team All-Conference, and NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors this season. Her NAIA All-American Honor was only the second OIT volleyball player to ever be named to an NAIA All-American team, following Krista Wooley who was named NAIA Third Team All-American in 2008.
