Tech Beats Pacific Union for Fourth Win of the Season

ANGWIN, Calif. – Oregon Tech took down Pacific Union College Sunday night at the Covered Wagon with a solid 20-point win 70-50, bringing them to 4-2 of the season.

Head Coach Scott Meredith, "This win over Pacific Union was a nice way to finish a physically demanding 3-game road trip. I'm proud of the way the team overcame adversity to perform as well as they did against quality opponents. We have great senior leadership and our sophomores and freshman have been giving us good minutes. We are looking forward to playing in front of our fans next weekend."

Freshman Kristin Farrell helped to lead the charge, scoring 17 points for the Owls, including four long range shots in the first two quarters. Senior Megan Morris brought 10 points to the game, and senior Nohea Waiwaiole and sophomore Abby Kreiser each scored 8.

For the Pioneers, Jasmine Peete scored a game high 19 points. However, the rest of the team did not fare so well, with Pacific Union gaining only 16 points from their bench compared to Tech's 38.

The Lady Owls scored seven three-pointers throughout the game and made 21 points from the free-throw line.

Tech forced 23 turnovers but committed 23 of their own for the game.

Tech's Lady Owls will play in the Lithia Oregon Tech Classic next weekend at Danny Miles Court, with games taking place on Friday at 5:30 pm against Simpson University, and Saturday at 5:30 pm against Antelope Valley.
