KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –Evergreen moved a step closer to the Cascade Collegiate Conference volleyball playoffs on Saturday with a five-set victory (18-25, 25-22, 17-25, 25-23, 15-9) over the host Oregon Tech Owls at Danny Miles Court.
"That was a tough match," said Head Coach
Andrew Clifton. "We played very well at times and struggled with getting our flow back when things went bad. Evergreen's energy kept them in the game and we struggled to match it. We will work on making plays in clutch situations the next week and try to get back on the winning side of the scoreboard."
Tonight was Senior Night as the Owls honored thrseniors,
Chase Bohman,
Isabella Smith and
Bailey Nelson for their dedication to the program.
With the win, the Geoducks (11-16 overall, 9-9 CCC) put an end to a five-match losing streak while at the same time ending Oregon Tech's push for a playoff spot. The Owls slip to 11-14 on the year and 6-12 in the CCC)
Senior
Chase Bohman had a game high 24 kills with freshman
Nicole Reyes adding 22 kills in the loss for Oregon Tech. As a team OIT hit .216.
Senior Natalie Taylor came through for the Geoducks with 17 kills while hitting .295. Another senior, Lehualani Keka, finished with 12 kills and a .229 attack mark, while junior middle blocker Chloee Hunt had her second straight strong hitting match with 11 kills while hitting .237. Sierra Wolff finished with 39 assists as the Geoducks hit .233 as a team.
Defensively, Alexis Garrison picked up 12 digs, Hunt had two solo blocks and three block assists and Tasha Hungate registered two solo blocks
