Lady Owls Drop Five Set Thriller at Warner Pacific

PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific (7-14, 6-10 CCC) won the fifth set 15-8 extending Oregon Tech's losing streak to eight straight with a 3-2 win at Bart Valentine Court. OIT falls to 9-13 on the year and 4-11 in the Cascade Conference.
 
Tech started well with a 25-22 win in the first set. WPU then took a marathon second set 33-31. The Knights carried that momentum into a dominant 25-17 third set win. Tech showed a lot of heart in capturing the fourth set 25-22 to force the fifth and decisive set.
 
In the fifth set Warner Pacific started with a 4-0 lead, extended that to 7-3 on the way to the 15-8 win.
 
Chase Bohman led the Owls with 15 kills with Nicole Reyes and Melody Edwards adding 13 kills each in the loss.
 
WP held a .238 kill percentage for the match while holding OIT to just .191.
 
Jaime Toedtemeier held down the middle for the Owls with 39 assists while Lindsey Sampson led the OIT defense with 19 digs.
 
Tech will look to break the losing streak Saturday when play at Multnomah University at 5:00 pm. The Owls won the first matchup earlier this year 3-0 on September 14.
