Lady Owls Fall at UC Merced

MERCED, Calif. - UC Merced scored twice in five minutes to start the second half as the Bobcats beat Oregon Tech Monday afternoon 2-0. UC Merced improves to 1-2-1 on the year with the Lady Owls falling to 1-2.
After a scoreless first half, UCM didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard to start the second stanza as Miranda Alvear scored just 19 seconds into the period with what would be the game-winner. Elizabeth Cruz Gomez gave the Bobcats a 2-0 lead as she scored just 5 minutes later in the 51
st minute.
Tech was unable to muster much offense on the day as they were held to just 2-shots for the game and only one on frame.
UC Merced peppered the OIT defense with 19 shots on the day, 12 on goal.
The Lady Owls will try to bounce back with their home opener on Friday, September 8
th at noon as the host Humboldt State University.
