Lady Owls Drop Conference Opener

CALDWELL, ID. – College of Idaho scored three first half goals on the way to a 3-0 Cascade Conference win over Oregon Tech in the CCC Opener for both teams. Tech falls to 0-1 in conference play and 2-4 on the year Friday afternoon.
Oregon Tech had many opportunities with 8-shots on goal and a total of 10-shots on the day, however great keeper play from the Yotes Brittany Houghton kept the Lady owls scoreless on the day was she was credited with 8-saves in picking-up the win between the pipes for COI.
College of Idaho scored all three goals in a 10-minute period in the first half. Jocelyn Cook-Cox buried a 25-yard shot into the right-corner of the goal in the 32nd minute to open the scoring for the Lady Yotes (3-3, 1-0), who won for the third-straight time. Emily Aspden flicked home a corner kick in the 39th minute and two minutes later, Hannah Coverley blasted home a 25-yard shot to cap the scoring.
Kylie Cowell led the OIT offense with 4-shots on the afternoon with 3 being on goal. Tech's
Abigail Herbert chipping in a pair of shots both on goal for the Hooter in the loss.
The Lady Owls will have a travel day Saturday and then will play at Rocky Mountain College on Sunday at 11:00 AM.
