CALDWELL, Idaho – Bekir Cinac converted a 30-yard free kick in the ninth minute for the lone goal as the College of Idaho weathered 17 Oregon Tech shots in a 1-0 victory at Simplot Stadium Friday afternoon.

Cinac took the free kick from deep on the left side of the pitch, driving the shot through the hands of OIT Keeper Gerardo Skewes and into the back of the net for the game's only goal.

Oregon Tech Head Coach Matt Munhall after his team's Cascade Conference opening loss, "Today was a tough one to swallow. From the stat sheet we were the better team but the stats don't always tell the story in soccer. It was a frustrating loss for our team."

The Owls had a huge 17-6 advantage in shots and an 8-1 edge in shots on goal.

Grant Billings had six saves and Parker Billings had 2-saves as the pair combined to pick-up the shut-out win between the pipes for the Yotes.

Lodewijk Bloemzaad led the Owls with 3-shots, all on goal for the game.

The Hustlin' Owls will have a travel day Saturday and then will play at Rocky Mountain College on Sunday at 1:30 pm.
