COMING UP: at Walla Walla, Friday, 2:30 p.m.; at Warner Pacific, Sunday, 1 p.m.

COMPLETE WEEKLY MEDIA NOTEBOOK

GAME DAY INFORMATION: Both weekend matches will be streamed live on the Urban Edge Network, while Live Stats of the matches available online through OIT's SIDEARM Stats Portal.

OPPONENT PREVIEW – WALLA WALLA: The final trip of the season begins in Washington, where Tech faces the best Walla Walla side in program history. The Wolves (3-7, 3-7 CCC) have wins in league play vs. College of Idaho, Northwest and Evergreen – with WWU nearly evening up their opponents in shot attempts (158-120). The tandem of Paulo Tostado (6 goals, 4 assists) and Juan Lobos (5 goals, 1 assist) have provided the offense for the Wolves, with Mauro Garrotte (1 goal, 1 assist) and Javi Stambullian (1 goal, 1 assist) the playmakers and Pablo Ossorio (2.97 GAA) the keeper. OIT holds an 8-1 series, with the lone loss coming via forfeit.

OPPONENT PREVIEW – WARNER PACIFIC: The regular-season ends Sunday at Warner Pacific, as the Owls rekindle a recent rivalry with the Knights (10-4-1, 6-3-1), who had a 5-match win streak snapped last weekend in Montana (with a loss to Carroll and draw at Rocky Mountain). WPU has outscored opponents 33-17, thanks to the play of Bodo Calderon (12 goals, 2 assists) – the No. 2 scorer in the CCC. The trio of Bryan Jimenez (3 goals, 2 assists), Abe Fuchs (2 goals, 3 assists) and Luis Gonzalez (3 goals, 1 assists) have be key in the attacking third, with keeper Owen Purvis (0.80 GAA) among the top netminders in the league. It is the 27th meeting, with WPU holding a 15-6-5 series lead.

PLAYOFF PICTURE: Tech currently sits in a 3-way tie for sixth-place (with Bushnell and Southern Oregon) in the Cascade Conference standings with one week remaining in the regular-season. The Owls can clinch a playoff spot with a win in one of their final two games, or losses by Corban and Walla Walla. OIT potentially can finish as high as third in the final standings or finish tenth and miss the postseason entirely.

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Owls are looking to extend a streak of eight-straight postseason appearance, including NAIA National Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022. Tech has reached the CCC Tournament semifinals 4-straight years – winning the crown in 2021, losing the championship game in overtime in 2022, while reaching the semis in 2023 and 2024. OIT has a 6-6-2 all-time record at the CCC Championships and a 6-7-3 all-time postseason record.

PLAYING ON GRASS: For the first time this season, the Owls will play a match on grass (Friday's date at Walla Walla will be on a natural surface) – and put a five-match unbeaten streak on the line. OIT is a combined 2-0-3 in their last five matches on a natural surface, with the last loss in 2022 in the NAIA Tournament at MidAmerica Nazarene. Four schools –Evergreen, Northwest, Walla Walla and Providence – play exclusively on grass.

OWLS COMPLETE UNBEATEN SEASON AT HOME: With the win over Bushnell and draw vs. Corban, the Hustlin' Owls completed an unbeaten season in the Basin, finishing 4-0-2, extending a home unbeaten streak to seven. Since the OIT Soccer Field was transitioned from natural grass to an artificial turf surface in 2017, the Owls have posted a 44-12-8 record on their own pitch. Since 2020, Tech has dominated foes, recording a 35-7-7 home record.

KAY-WONG RESCUES TECH: The Owls earned three key points with a 1-0 victory over Bushnell on Friday – thanks to a goal from Lucas Kay-Wong. The junior, who had played in just two previous games in 2025, entered late in the second half and was on the right end of a Merrick Tambio cross, touching home the pass at the back post.

TECH SURVIVES FOR POINT: Playing in a brutal windstorm, OIT survived a second half red card to claim a 1-1 draw against Corban. Despite allowing just one first half shot, the Owls trailed 1-0 at the break, but pulled even with a Merrick Tambio goal off a Patrick Chan cross. Tech had to clamp down defensively over the final 30 minutes after the send off, withstanding eight Warrior shot attempts.

GOAL EQUAL POSITIVE RESULTS: Scoring goals has been crucial to the Owls success in 2025, as Tech is unbeaten when scoring at least one goal in a match. When posting a goal (or more), OIT is 6-0-4 on the year, while when they have been shutout, the team is 0-4-1.

DRAW RECORD: With the 1-1 draw vs. Corban, OIT established a new single-season record for ties with five – as the team enters the weekend with a 6-4-5 overall mark. Prior to 2025, the Owls recorded four draws in a season twice – in 2019 and 2022.

AROUND THE CCC: Carroll was the lone team last weekend to go 2-0, keeping themselves one point behind No. 23-ranked Eastern Oregon in the race for the league title. This week – EOU and College of Idaho are on the road at Northwest and Evergreen, Carroll and Rocky Mountain head to Corban and Bushnell, while OIT and Southern make the trip to Warner Pacific and Walla Walla.
